STEPHEN BALDWIN

Date of Birth: May 12, 1966

Born in Long Island, New York, Stephen Baldwin was brought up among an acting frenzy with his brothers Alec, William and Daniel all fighting to get into the spotlight. Like his older brother William, Baldwin attended the State University of New York at Binghamton and briefly modeled for Calvin Klein.

While working in a New York City pizza parlor, Baldwin was spotted by an agent. Shortly afterwards, he made his first TV bow in the 1987 American Playhouse presentation of The Prodigious Hickey, in which he played an inveterate turn-of-the-century practical joker.

A year later, he landed his first film part, playing Luna Park Drunk in Homeboy. With an array of guest starring roles in place, Baldwin later went on to star in the Emmy Award- and Western Heritage Award-winning series, Young Riders portraying the legendary William "Buffalo Bill" Cody as a young man. He worked on this series from 1989 through 1992.

It wasn't long before Baldwin was getting lead roles in movies such as the double Academy Award-winning, The Usual Suspects (1995), Under the Hula Moon (1995), Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle (1994) and A Twist of Fate (1994).

Baldwin's projects of late include mostly indie films such as In My Sleep (2003) and Fly Boys (2004) with Tom Sizemore.

In between film projects, Baldwin devotes a great deal of his spare time to philanthropic endeavors. He has created, organized and hosted a celebrity pool tournament, Pool Aid, in its fifth year, at he Hollywood Athletic Club. The event has raised thousands of dollars to benefit AIDS Project Los Angeles, a non-profit community based organization that offers over 30 free life-sustaining programs to Los Angeles County residents living with AIDS/HIV.

In 1990, Baldwin married Kennya Deodato, a young woman he met on the subway in New York. He presently lives with his wife and their two daughters and spends his time writing poetry and listening to music. He loves auto racing, super bike motorcycle racing (he is an honorary Team Suzuki member), sky diving, and bungee cord jumping.
