In the trailer for Heartbeats, a female dance troupe gathers together before a performance. They tell each other enthusiastically, "Let's do it!" Kelli (Krystal Ellsworth), one of the girls, has her parents show up at her apartment. They tell her they know she hasn't been attending school, so they're taking her to India for a wedding. She says she can't go because she has a callback, to which her mother replies, "I thought you gave up dance." And so Kelli goes to India, where she learns about a new type of dance that she finds intriguing. She meets a cute guy who asks her to come watch his dance crew at a club. Impressed, she begins dancing with them.
