Mike Bigelow began his career in 1982 as a motion animator after graduating from UCLA Film School. He moved on to become a commercial technical director, then by 1990 he found himself directing commercials. In 1993 Bigelow won a Cannes Bronze Lion for his ad for a French insurance company.
His spot for Pella Windows, entitled "Elopement," received critical acclaim, winning a London International Advertising Award. It was also nominated for a 1998 Emmy Award. In April 2004, Bigelow joined Biscuit Filmworks, where he's done spots for Cartoon Network, Miller Lite, North Fork Bank, Canadian Club and Pella Windows & Doors. Having become a much-sought after commercial director, Bigelow made his feature film debut with Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo (2005), starring Rob Schneider.
