Rudy (Rudy Mancuso) finds it hard to focus because he has synesthesia, in which all the sounds around him form music. His girlfriend Haley finds the relationship difficult because his attention is usually elsewhere. When he meets Isabella (Camila Mendes), whose parents are also from Brazil and who speaks Portuguese even though she was born in the States, they have an instant connection.
