It seems rather fitting that Janet Montgomery was born so close to Halloween.
The Dorset, England native launched her career in film with a number of horror movies, including 2009's The Hills Run Red and 2010's Dead Cert.
She moved to Hollywood shortly after her Skins stint, and in 2010 landed her first part in a major motion picture. Playing the role of Madeline, Janet appeared in the Academy Award-winning Black Swan with Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis. Portraying Natalie's Little Swan came somewhat naturally for Janet, who previously trained at the Stella Mann College for Performing Arts in Bedford, England.
Janet then went back to television, playing a starring role on the Fox series Human Target (2010-11), a regular role as Jennie on the hit HBO series Entourage (2010-11), a guest-starring role in two episodes of the BBC/Space series Merlin (2011-12), a starring role as Martina on the CBS drama series Made in Jersey (2012) and the role of Sarah in the BBC/Starz! mini-series Dancing on the Edge (2013), starring Chiwetel Ejiofor.
In 2013, she experienced wide exposure as the real-life English socialite Freda Dudley Ward in the hit period drama Downton Abbey, appearing in the Christmas 2013 episode.
She went back to film in 2014 with 10 Things I Hate About Life before taking a starring role as Mary Sibley in the WGN America television series Salem.
In the 2016 film Happily Ever After, Janet plays Heather, the lead character, who returns to her hometown when her father falls ill. While there, she confronts a past she thought she left behind as she agrees to film her former best friend's (Sara Paxton) wedding.
Janet is the older sister of actor Jason Montgomery. She is also the proud owner of a precious pooch named Guthrie.
