On Christmas eve, Scott Calvin (Tim Allen) hears a noise on the roof and startles Santa Claus, who falls to the ground. Scott's son Charlie tells him he's killed Santa Claus. They discover a card on Santa that instructs Scott to put on the Santa suit, and that the reindeer will know what to do. Together, Scott and Charlie get in the sleigh and try to save Christmas.
