Interview with Commander Scott D. Altman (Hubble 3D)

Through the power of IMAX 3D, Hubble 3D will enable moviegoers to journey through distant galaxies to explore the mysteries of our celestial surroundings, and accompany space-walking astronauts as they attempt the most difficult and important tasks in NASA's history. The film offers an inspiring and unique look into the Hubble Space Telescope's legacy and highlights its profound impact on the way we view the universe and ourselves. Narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio, Hubble 3D is produced and directed by Toni Myers.

Last May, veteran astronaut Scott Altman led a team of seven on the Shuttle Atlantis. Although this was Scott's fifth trip to space, this mission was unlike any other he had experienced. Together Scott and his fellow astronauts had to repair the Hubble telescope for the last time and help film Hubble 3D.

Tribute's Bonnie Laufer had the exclusive opportunity to chat with Altman in Washington D.C. about his duties aboard the shuttle and what it was like to be a part of this extraordinary movie.
