Rogue One: A Star Wars Story director Gareth Edwards explains why he disagrees with the preconceived idea that the Star Wars universe is futuristic, instead describing it as "grounded" and "historical" in its influence. Moreover, he calls Diego Luna "lovable" and "relatable," while noting Alan Tudyk's rare ability to make audiences laugh and cry.
