far better than expected. Seth and Barbara have a real chemistry for one another that carried the film through some borign parts. A good movie.
Barbara Streisand is worth seeing... see still has a sense of drama & humor.
I love it. I feel myself with the real problems that we moms have with our daughters and sons.
Not very funny. Pretty slow and quite predictable.
I loved this movie and I would sit through it again - can't say that about too many movies. I am a single mom of a 24 year old son so this movie really struck a chord. Barbra Streisand is SO good as his mom, her facial expressions made me laugh and cry. Seth is pretty good although not really believable as her son, looks nothing like her. The story has some interesting little turns to keep you wondering. Barbra looks so good, I can't believe she's 70. Really a great show.
What a surprise! I've become quite cynical about movies in recent years, so I was expecting a so-so, predictable story with cartoonish characters and mediocre jokes. I was happy to find that "The Guilt Trip" is a lovely look at the often difficult and painful relationships we have with our parents. Barbara Streisand radiates warmth and humour as the mother of an organic chemist who is trying to transform himself into an entrepreneur with little success (she looks fantastic, and those beautiful blue eyes light up the screen). Many truly funny, laugh-out-loud moments that will ring true for anyone who's ever had that love/hate dynamic with their parents, and touching scenes about lost love.
There isn't much chemistry between the 2 main characters. Definitely a DVD movie.
