Matthew Keesler was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan and graduated from high school in 1991. He then moved to New York City, where he attended the prestigious Julliard School for three years. He first appeared onscreen in 1994 with bit parts in two major films, Penny Marshall's Renaissance Man, with Mark Wahlberg and Robert Redford's Quiz Show, with Ralph Fiennes.
