JOSH HUTCHERSON

Date of Birth: October 12, 1992

Kentucky native Josh Hutcherson enjoyed being the center of attention and entertaining people at a young age. He continuously asked his parents if he could be in movies, but it wasn't until he turned nine that they gave in and let him get an agent in Cincinnati, Ohio, which was the closest city to their Kentucky home.

His first job was a Bible Study video for a church in Toledo, Ohio. An acting coach recommended to Josh's parents that they take him to California to try his luck there in the big time. They did, for a trial period of one year. Within that time, he landed a role in a sitcom pilot for Paramount called House Blend; guest appearances on ER and The Division; and a role in the Animal Planet TV movie Miracle Dogs.

Josh made his feature film debut in American Splendor (2003), followed by supporting roles in Motocross Kids (2004) and Kicking & Screaming (2005). His big screen starring role came in Little Manhattan (2005), about an 11-year-old boy who falls in love in NYC, followed by the big budget Zathura (2005), the story of two brothers who play a board game that hurtles them through space.

Other TV credits include playing Eddie in the pilot The Courtship of Eddie's Father based on the hit '60s series starring Bill Bixby; and a guest appearance on Line of Fire.

Since then, he's played Robin William's son in R.V. (2006), a boy who suffers a tragedy in Bridge to Terabithia (2007) and a teen who wants to meet his father in The Kids Are All Right. He also stars in the 2012 films Journey 2: The Mysterious Island and Red Dawn, not to mention the lead role of Peeta Mellark in the highly-anticipated film-adaptation of Suzanne Collins' novel The Hunger Games (2012). He then starred in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 (2014) and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 (2015). His latest credit is a role in the James Franco-directed film The Disaster Artist (2017).

When not working on a set, Josh enjoys playing football with friends. He was rumored to be dating his Journey 2: The Mysterious Island co-star Vanessa Hudgens.
