Afia Nathaniel makes her feature film directorial debut with Dukhtar, an emotional drama about Allah Rakhi, who fled from an abusive arranged marriage to save her daughter. Nathaniel spoke about the struggle to get an all female-led film financed, the dangers of filming on location in Pakistan, as well as the real-life women who inspired her while making it.
